Sue Abela is the top female Sport personality of 2008 following a vote conducted by the Għaqda Kittieba Sports for the annual Sportivi Nazzjonali contest.
Sue Abela, Malta's leading female bowler, was another former winner who was honored during the gala night held at the Le Meridien Hotel in St Julian's.
The finalist of the contest where Madeleine Scerri (swimming), Annabelle Olivieri Munroe (squash), Danica Spiteri (triathlon) and Martina Xuereb (athletics). Xuereb's sister, Francesca, was the winner last year. Abela topped this prestigious title of Sportswoman of the Year poll for the third time in her carrier when she collected 281 points, ten better off than second-placed Martina Xuereb, of athletics.
